OPENROUTER RAISES 113 MILLION, HITS 1.3 BILLION VALUATION IN ONE YEAR — GOOGLE’S OWN VENTURE ARM LED THE ROUND The company routing AI traffic for the entire industry just doubled its valuation and raised $113 million in a Series B led by CapitalG, the investment arm of Alphabet, the same parent company that owns Google. The irony is not lost. OpenRouter provides a single API that gives developers access to more than 400 different AI models from every major lab, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral, and dozens of others. Weekly token volume on the platform has grown from 5 trillion to 25 trillion in just six months, a staggering fivefold increase that reflects the explosive shift from AI experimentation to full production deployment. Revenue has climbed from roughly $10 million annualized last October to $50 million annualized today. The investor roster reads like a who’s who of the AI infrastructure bet: Nvidia, ServiceNow, MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks, Andreessen Horowitz, and Menlo Ventures all joined the round. The message is clear. Nobody wants to bet on one model winning. The smart money is betting on the infrastructure layer that aggregates all of them. OpenRouter is quickly becoming as essential to the AI stack as AWS became to the cloud a decade ago.
