ANTHROPIC FILES SECRETLY FOR IPO AT $965 BILLION VALUATION — BIGGER THAN FORD, BOEING AND GM COMBINED

ANTHROPIC FILES SECRETLY FOR IPO AT $965 BILLION VALUATION — BIGGER THAN FORD, BOEING AND GM COMBINED Anthropic, the company behind the Claude family of AI models, confidentially filed for an initial public offering on June 1 with a valuation of $965 billion. Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley are leading the offering, which is expected to raise more than $60 billion and target an October listing on the Nasdaq. At IPO, analysts expect the company to cross the $1 trillion mark. The financial story behind the filing is extraordinary. Anthropic grew from $1 billion in annualized revenue at the end of 2024 to $30 billion by April 2026, a 30-fold increase in just 16 months. The revenue run rate hit $47 billion in May. Those numbers would be impressive for any company. For a six-year-old AI safety lab founded by researchers who left OpenAI over disagreements about moving too fast, they are almost impossible to fully absorb. This will be the first pure AI safety company to go public and, if the valuation holds at the offering price, one of the largest IPOs in stock market history. It also puts a definitive price tag on the AI safety bet. Anthropic’s founders left OpenAI arguing that a safety-first approach was both morally necessary and commercially viable at the same time. The public markets are about to deliver their verdict on whether they were right. Keywords: Anthropic IPO, Anthropic valuation $965 billion, Claude AI public offering, AI company stock market
