The timing is calculated. While AI has driven mass layoffs at corporations like Coinbase, GM and Snap, small business owners have largely been left behind, unsure how to adopt tools they never had the technical staff to deploy. Anthropic is betting that this market, long underserved and underestimated, is the next major battleground in the AI platform wars. The company is backing the launch with a national tour starting in Chicago on May 14, offering free AI training workshops to 100 business leaders per city. Ten cities. One hundred seats each.
