APPLE FINALLY FIXES SIRI — NEW AI ASSISTANT REVEALED AT WWDC IS REBUILT FROM SCRATCH
After years of being the laughingstock of the AI industry, Apple walked onto the WWDC stage Monday and showed the world a Siri it is not embarrassed about. The new assistant, now officially called Siri AI, has been torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. It works across every Apple device, holds full conversations, understands context across apps, and actually does things instead of just searching the web.
Apple VP Mike Rockwell called it profoundly more capable. That is a low bar given where the old Siri stood, but the demos looked real. The assistant can edit photos, manage automations in plain English, draft emails, and complete tasks that would have broken the previous version in seconds. iOS 27 arrives in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and brings the new Siri along with it.
There is a catch. The EU and China will not get Siri AI at launch as Apple battles regulatory hurdles in both markets. For everyone else, the era of Apple apologizing for its AI story appears to be ending. Whether Siri AI can close the gap on ChatGPT and Gemini in real-world use is still an open question. The answer arrives in the fall.
