APPLE IS ABOUT TO PUT AN AI IN EVERY CORNER OF YOUR IPHONE AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IT CAN DO Apple announced iOS 27 and the new Siri AI at WWDC earlier this month. What that announcement did not fully convey is what the experience will actually look like when it lands on your phone in September. The short version: this is not a software update. It is a different kind of device. The new Siri can read your Messages, Mail, Photos, and whatever is on your screen in real time, all at once, without you switching apps. Ask it a question that involves your calendar, a recent email, and a contact, and it answers by pulling all three together. It can take action in apps you are not even looking at. The Passwords app will now use AI to identify your weak and reused passwords, then go change them for you without you manually logging into each account. Safari can “agentically take action on your behalf” during browsing sessions. The Phone app can pull context from your emails mid-call. iOS 27 is also meaningfully faster. App launches are up to 30 percent quicker. Photos load up to 70 percent faster. AirDrop transfers move up to 80 percent faster. None of that is AI, but it is the kind of thing that makes a phone feel new. The catch is hardware. These features require an iPhone 16 or later, or an iPhone 15 Pro. If you are on anything older, you will not see most of this. Apple has structured its AI rollout to push people toward newer hardware, and iOS 27 makes that pressure explicit.
