MICROSOFT IS BUILDING ONE AI SUPER APP TO REPLACE THEM ALL — CHATGPT GRIP ON THE FRONT DOOR IS UNDER ATTACK

MICROSOFT IS BUILDING ONE AI SUPER APP TO REPLACE THEM ALL — CHATGPT GRIP ON THE FRONT DOOR IS UNDER ATTACK Microsoft is building a unified Copilot super app that will merge GitHub Copilot for coding, Microsoft 365 Copilot for productivity, a new Cowork collaboration feature, and an autonomous agentic tool internally named Autopilot, all under a single interface the company describes with the slogan Delivering one Copilot. Fortune confirmed the project and leaked screenshots show the full architecture. The launch target is before end of summer. The strategic logic is direct. Right now a developer uses GitHub Copilot in their IDE, a manager runs M365 Copilot in Teams, and an executive opens ChatGPT for quick questions. Microsoft wants all of that happening inside one Microsoft-controlled surface with a unified account, a shared context window across apps, and a single billing relationship. Every interaction that stays inside Microsoft is an interaction that does not go to OpenAI or Google. The app features what Microsoft internally calls Scout, an always-on background agent that monitors the user work across applications and surfaces information proactively without being prompted. It is Microsoft answer to Google Gemini Spark, introduced at I/O last month. The project is being run by Jacob Andreou, Microsoft head of Copilot. Build 2026 on June 2 is expected to formalize the broader direction. When this ships, Microsoft will own the full stack: the model, the operating system, the productivity layer, and now the interface. Keywords: Microsoft Copilot super app, Microsoft AI app 2026, Copilot Scout agent, Microsoft one AI platform
