OPENAI BRINGS CHATGPT AND CODEX TO AMAZON’S CLOUD — MILLIONS OF AWS CUSTOMERS CAN NOW BUILD ON THE SAME MODELS THAT POWER THE WORLD’S MOST USED AI

OPENAI BRINGS CHATGPT AND CODEX TO AMAZON’S CLOUD — MILLIONS OF AWS CUSTOMERS CAN NOW BUILD ON THE SAME MODELS THAT POWER THE WORLD’S MOST USED AI OpenAI announced that its frontier models, including Codex, are now generally available on Amazon Web Services. The move opens what OpenAI calls a new path for millions of AWS customers, removing one of the biggest friction points in enterprise AI adoption by plugging OpenAI’s models directly into AWS’s existing security, compliance, procurement, billing, and governance workflows. For the enterprise market, this is significant. The typical objection to deploying OpenAI models inside large corporations has been the procurement and security review process. AWS has already cleared those hurdles for thousands of enterprise customers. By riding on top of that existing trust infrastructure, OpenAI is effectively bypassing the sales cycle that has slowed enterprise AI adoption for years. The timing is pointed. Microsoft has been publicly separating itself from OpenAI in its own products, replacing GPT models with its own proprietary MAI models in GitHub Copilot. OpenAI’s answer is to find distribution channels outside Microsoft’s orbit. AWS is the world’s largest cloud provider. Building a direct relationship there hedges against whatever happens to the Microsoft partnership. For developers already working in AWS, this means access to GPT-5.5, Codex, and DALL-E without setting up a separate OpenAI account or managing a separate billing relationship. The enterprise gate just got a lot lower. Keywords: OpenAI AWS, Codex cloud deployment, ChatGPT enterprise AI, OpenAI Amazon partnership
